Some highlights from 2011
Regional Instructor Michael Omay and Branch Instructor Michael Tait conducted a Ground Fighting seminar at Raymond Terrace. This was the first ‘cross training‘ event ever held by the ITTA.
North Qld Regional Instructor Kelly Gibson and Black Belts Ray Smith, John Gibson and Steve Bertucci were certified as National International Taekwondo Federation Tournament Umpires.
Raymond Terrace Dojang student Brianna Jennings represented the ITTA in a number of open martial arts tournaments winning places at local, state, national and international levels.

is issued to Branch Instructor Michael Brinkley 2nd Dan
Kariong Dojang Black Belt Mr. Allen Bishop aged 68 is the oldest ITTA student promoted to 2nd Dan Black Belt.
Jesmond Dojang student Nelsen Yohanes aged 8 is the youngest ITTA student promoted to Junior Black Belt.

ON THE GRAPEVINE
There is a likehood that later in 2012 several weapons will be included in the Black Belt curriculum (mainly as an aid to developing better self defence).
The ITTA will be offering
Nationally Recognised Certificate II, III & IV in Sport (specialising in Martial Arts) courses as a part of the process of gaining 1st Dan Black Belt.
Students applying for Dan promotion during 2012 will need to meet ALL grading requirements (as per the published list - ask your Branch Instructor if you don’t have a copy), including completing the theory exam.
All future students (from June grading on) applying for Black Belt promotion will need to hold a current (minimum) Basic First Aid Certificate. All Instructors will be required to hold current Apply First Aid (+CPR) certification.
